Advantages or Pros:
- One of the biggest attractions apart from the price and the motorised incline is the lifetime warranty available on the motor and the running deck for this treadmill and in addition to this you get a 12 month warranty on everything else which certainly gives you confidence with the quality of the motor you are getting.
- Another big attraction is the fact that it can be folded in a vertical position and locked tight so it is ideal for people who live in smaller type spaces and need the treadmill tucked away after use.
- When you need to move it to another room, it has the sturdy transportation wheels which allow easier mobility throughout your home and your pulse rates can be tracked closely via the arms.
- The pre-set programmes are excellent and give you a great variety of different sessions to work through which helps to prevent you from getting bored
- You will also like the user friendly speed controls on the handlebars and short cut keys which are perfect for people for interval training and adjustments can be made easily while keeping your balance
- To help you with the folding, it offers you the soft drop mechanism system which is one less thing for you to worry about
- Overall, the motor performs quite well, it has a decent size running deck, you get a motorised incline and to be fair is very good value for the level of money you have to pay.
Disadvantages or Cons:
- You are limited to a max user weight of 110kg – if you weigh above this then you will need to start looking elsewhere
- You are also limited to a max speed level of just 12 km per hour which is a lot lower than many other treadmills we see on sale which can offer up to 16 and in some cases 20 km per hour speed levels.
- There is no MP3 connection or USB port available and no loud speakers to help keep you motivated for longer type running sessions which more premium models can offer you
- As it weighs over 50kg, you will need some hired help to get it upstairs if that is where you intend to use it and the motor of 1.5HP is less powerful than the premium more powerful treadmills that have 2HP and in some cases 3HP
Price Guide:
- The price guide when last seen on sale at the time of this review was in the £290 to £330 region which can be double checked below for a more accurate price tag

Ha ! Cool treadmill, it actually looks to be perfect for me, I’m under 100kg, and it seems to be not so massif of a treadmill. I go jogging nearly everyday, I hate rain though so I have already thought of buying a treadmill but haven’t yet found the right one, either because it was too big or too expensive. But the price for this one seems reasonable. I don’t need something quite as powerful so I think I will go for the BodyTrain Speed. Overall great design !
Great treadmill. This is the one my aunt had in her basement. I tried it out while I was visiting and it was very good. Nice and sturdy. It is so important to have your own gym equipment. You want to be able to work out even if you can’t make it to a gym. Treadmills are great for doing walking while it’s cold out. You could even put it in front of a nice window so that you can have a view of outside. Also treadmills are good for just doing a jogging warm-up or cooling down or actually doing interval cardio too.
Hey Peter, your review was very insightful. It was a very thorough and I learnt a lot about this Powertech brand. After reading you review I feel much happier with this brand of treadmills and the good/poor points to note for each model type. I considered getting a treadmill few weeks ago, I’m glad I stayed a little bit, else I might not have seen this post. Good job for doing this review.
